FDH Appoints Former Central Bank Chief MD

Former Reserve Bank of Malawi Governor Dr. Ellias Ngalande has been appointed as Managing Director of the FDH Bank.

 FDH Public Relations Manager Lorraine Lusinje has said the appointment is effective Thursday, 2 January, 2020.

Ngalande: New Broom

 “He will lead the implementation of FDH Bank’s strategy championing innovation, digital solutions, financial inclusion and superior customer service delivery,” announced Lusinje in a statement released Thursday evening.

 According to Lusinje, Ngalande is a seasoned and highly qualified professional with over 30 years’ experience working in strategic management positions in the public and private sector locally and abroad.

Among senior positions previously held by the new FDH boss include General Manager for ADMARC Investment Holding Company, Secretary to Treasury at Ministry of Finance,  and Executive Director of Microeconomic and Financial Management Institute of Eastern and Southern Africa. 

Dr. Ngalande held the position of Deputy Governor before ascending to the highest office at the central bank.

 “He will lead the implementation of FDH Bank’s strategy championing innovation, digital solutions, financial inclusion and superior customer service delivery,” announced Lusinje in a statement released Thursday evening.

Lusinje says Dr. Ngalande boasts of an accomplished academic record including a PhD in Economics and a Master’s Degree in Political Economy from Boston University in USA, a Master’s of Science in development Economics from University of Strathclyde in Scotland and a Bachelor’s of Social Science Degree from University of Malawi Chancellor College.
