President Peter Mutharika has, today Friday, left for London, United Kingdom, to take part in the UK-Africa Summit amid political tensions in the country following months of protests and court action challenging his controversial victory in the 2019 presidential elections.
The summit will take place starting on Monday 20th January, 2020.
Britain says the UK-Africa Investment summit will create new lasting partnerships that will deliver more investment, jobs and growth.
This will, in turn, benefit people and businesses across Africa and the UK.
Upon departure, Mutharika was seen off at Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) by the Vice President Everton Chimulirenji, Cabinet Ministers, Diplomats and traditional leaders.
